Fuel treatment

Marine fuel treatment: separators, heaters and filters

If you burn heavy fuel oil, the treatment plant decides how long the injection equipment lasts. We supply separator bowls and disc stacks, feed pumps, heaters, viscosity controllers and automatic filters.

Components

What we supply

Fuel treatment is where cheap fuel becomes expensive: a separator that is not separating, or a heater that cannot hold viscosity, sends abrasive material and the wrong atomisation to the injectors. Most of the parts here are wear parts with a known life, which makes them straightforward to stock and straightforward to quote.

To quote accurately

What we need from you

  • 1. Engine make and type
For example MAN B&W 6S50MC-C, or Wärtsilä 6L32.
  • 2. Part number
From the manual, the invoice, or stamped on the old part.
  • 3. Quantity and destination
One unit or a set, and the port or city for delivery.
  • 4. A photo, if the number is gone
The worn part, the nameplate or a drawing with dimensions.
No part number? That is common on older engines. Send the bore, the overall length and a photo and we will work from that.

Questions

Before you enquire

Bowls and disc stacks — do they come as a matched set?

A disc stack is matched to the bowl and to the separator model. We supply them together where both are worn, and separately where only one is. Mixing a new stack into a worn bowl usually loses separation efficiency.

Can you supply a heater for a viscosity range we specify?

Yes. Give us the fuel grade, the flow rate and the required outlet viscosity, and the heater is sized to that rather than to a catalogue default.

Do you supply separator service kits?

Yes, including bowl gaskets, O-rings, brake and clutch parts. Service kits are the most common fuel treatment enquiry we receive because they are ordered on a schedule, not after a failure.

Tell us what you need

One part number is enough to start. Drawings, photos and nameplate details all help us confirm the match.

What to include: engine make and type, part number (if known), quantity, and the port or city you need it delivered to. A photo of the nameplate or the worn part is often faster than a part number.
