Starting air

Marine starting air compressors, valves and receivers

An engine that will not turn is a ship that will not sail. We supply starting air compressors and their wear parts, starting air valves, air distributors, safety valves and receiver fittings.

  • Single unit or complete kit
  • OEM and verified alternatives
  • Certificate with shipment
  • Quotation in one business day

Components

What we supply

Starting air systems fail in predictable places: compressor valves and rings, the starting air valve on each cylinder, and the pilot air distributor. Because the system holds pressure, every part we ship for it comes with a test record and a set pressure where one applies.

To quote accurately

What we need from you

  • 1. Engine make and type
For example MAN B&W 6S50MC-C, or Wärtsilä 6L32.
  • 2. Part number
From the manual, the invoice, or stamped on the old part.
  • 3. Quantity and destination
One unit or a set, and the port or city for delivery.
  • 4. A photo, if the number is gone
The worn part, the nameplate or a drawing with dimensions.
No part number? That is common on older engines. Send the bore, the overall length and a photo and we will work from that.

Questions

Before you enquire

Can you supply a compressor overhaul kit?

Yes: valves, rings, gaskets, bearings and, where needed, a liner and piston. Send the compressor make, model and the discharge pressure; kits are built to that, not to a generic list.

Do starting air valves come with a test record?

They come with a seat tightness check and, where the valve carries a set pressure, that setting is recorded. Third-party inspection can be arranged if your superintendent requires it.

Is a new air receiver practical to ship?

It is shippable but heavy, and it needs a pressure vessel certificate for your flag state. Where only the fittings are worn, replacing covers, gaskets and valves is usually the better answer.

Tell us what you need

One part number is enough to start. Drawings, photos and nameplate details all help us confirm the match.

What to include: engine make and type, part number (if known), quantity, and the port or city you need it delivered to. A photo of the nameplate or the worn part is often faster than a part number.
